The European Digital Identity ecosystem is evolving quickly…
… and it remains complex to navigate. Multiple standards, requirements, and national approaches coexist, making it difficult to get a clear picture.
Our goal is to share a comprehensive overview of the architecture and the latest progress across Europe, so that everyone can better understand where we stand, identify opportunities for alignment, and prepare for the next steps.

Architecture and Reference Framework
The Architecture and Reference Framework (ARF) offers a state-of-the-art view of what the wallet will be.
The purpose of this document is to explain the architecture of the EUDI Wallet ecosystem and all of its components, as well as how these components will interact to ensure the security of the ecosystem and the privacy of its users.
Additionally, this document forms a reference to create uniform conditions for the implementation of the eIDAS regulation and to define the technical specifications, standards and procedures that the Commission will develop for the purpose of implementing this Regulation.
